Starting to think about Thanksgiving

Preliminary thoughts of delicious foods are running through my head. Last night Lewis brought over a carrot and daikon salad dressed with celery seed, lemon juice, olive oil, and a Japanese condiment made of Umeboshi Plums. It was excellent and I will add that to the table for Thanksgiving.

When the light fades, we remember how much food matters.

@doyle - you stopped here! How lovely! Mostly this is where I muse on food and family as food is so much a part of our family experience. Every day we eat at the big table in the kitchen. Right now we are lighting candles to keep us going to the solstice.

We cook together with joy and laughter. It holds us with some of those elemental bonds you are always thinking about. Thank you.
